Project Brief: To design a range of apparel designs (2-3 full looks) for interview process, from sport to sport inspired. Focus on the male Gen Z consumer while incorporating Adidas DNA. The mini-collection will include a concept story, customer research, and design development in 2D & 3D formats.

ACTION POINT.
I delighted to accept the challenge from the Adidas Design Team to come up with designs for Fall Winter 2022 Men BU Core line.
2020 has forced Sports to change pace, attitude, and rules. Many new forms, new norms. In fact, the covid-19 pandemic has caused the NBA to suspend season and remain social distancing practice recently.
With Adidas mission to empower and support athletes to reach the highest performance through sporting goods, I aspire to create products that speak for Gen Z male—aesthetically, functionality, and protection under the pandemic situation. Therefore, motivate Gen-Z to move forwards with a more active life in 2021 and beyond.
APPROACH.
Inspired by basketball players, I want to design products that support the young athlete adapt to the new norms of practicing sports during and post pandemic.
FOCUS.
How can we help the basketball players to commute
conveniently and fearlessly perform the game while still practice covid prevention protocol?

KEY TRENDS.
1. TikTok Influencers' styles.
Fashion and apparel are beginning to become intrinsic in
TikTok's social media presence and it must be paid attention to.
2. Warm Neutral Color.
Earthy neutrals and core beige palettes are tinted with #rosewater, while #beigeonbeige blocking taps into contemporary minimalism.
3. Neo-grunge.
A more commercial execution of TikTok's e-boy look is being adopted across the board, resulting in a youthful grunge aesthetic. The graphics speak to the Neo-grunge trend with bold neon color contrast prints, spray-painted effects and etched designs.
4. Prints & graphics
This influence is directing graphic art styles that appear more illustrative, digital and animated, with bolder colours in mid-tones also amplifying this message.
5. Simple sartorial basics.
Gen Z influencers move-on from sweatpant fatigue and cosy cut-and-sew streetwear staples by exploring tailored separates that are simple and #minimalist. Sport inspired, urban streetwear continues to evolve, with #utilitydetails and packable functionality.
